Love aerial yoga, but you’re getting bored with the fundamentals class? Tried the fundamentals class, but it was too hard? You’re flowing fine, but you’re ready for some advanced moves? This workshop is for ALL of you! In four parts, we’ll progress from the very basics of the poses to some fully fledged flight tricks! Each miniseries lasts 75 minutes so that there is plenty of time to break down each posture and answer questions. Sign up for one, two, three, or all four! You MUST register in advance.
Week 1: The Fundamentals of High Hammock
April 14 - from 1:15PM to 2:30PM
Learn the essential poses of Aerial Yoga, how to execute them safely, and the ins and outs of the alignment for each posture, including but not limited to: Downward Facing Dog, Rib Hang, Hip Hang, Straddle Inversion, Stepping in and out of the fabric, and inside the hammock stretches.
Week 2: Low Hammock Deep Stretch & Restorative
April 21 - from 1:15PM to 2:30PM
Explore Aerial Yoga with different levels of hammock highs. Experience Aerial restorative yoga and low hammock deep stretching. This powerful method focuses the mind through powerful visualizations as it floats the body through a series of gentle gyro-kinetic motions, deeply opening the entire spine, hips, and connective tissues of the body.
Week 3: Conditionings & Transitioning
April 28 - from 1:15PM to 2:30PM
We’ll put the basics into a sequence, reminding you the technique we learned in the previous class, but putting them into a flow that progresses in a similar way that a hatha mat yoga class progresses. In this class you will learn transition from one aerial posture to another without stepping out of your hammock. This class will build upon the previous week’s introduction and progress into more difficult postures on hammocks. We also walk you through basic floor and hammock conditioning to get you ready for week 4.
Week 4: Aerial Play
May 5 - from 1:15PM to 2:30PM
We’ll increase the tempo of the flow and teach you some cool new moves, adding some variations to your inversions and each of the basic postures. We’ll focus on conditioning in this class, with pull-ups, abdominal work, and the foundations you need to advance into the Intermediate Aerial Class.
