Who does GDPR apply to?

If you hold personal information on an individual in a business capacity – for example if you have an employee or a customer then the new law will apply to you.
If you run a club or a sporting organisation and have a list of members or volunteers then the law will also apply to you.

Introduction to GDPR, focusing particularly on micro and small-businesses, community enterprise and voluntary sector
What are the main differences between the current and new Data Protection regime?
What impact do these changes have on micro and small-businesses, community enterprise and voluntary sector?
What is the accountability principle, and who is accountable ? Self-employed, Boards, Staff and/ or Volunteers?
Who has rights over to the data being held by a small business, community and voluntary group and how can they exercise these rights ?
How should you respond to a request for information that they hold concerning any individual?
How do you obtain valid consent from a person to hold their information, e.g. volunteer member of the community, staff?
How are you supposed to process this information in your organisation?
What happens if there is a breach and other people get access to the information?
What information must be provided in a privacy policy?
