On Saturday, April 21st at 2pm, museum volunteers Frank and Jamie LaBreck will discuss the history of the Knights Templar at Castlerock Museum in Alma, Wisconsin.

The Knights Templar were founded in 1119 as a military order to protect pilgrims on their journey to the Holy Land. Learn about the famous personalities in their ranks, the movements they inspired, and how they shaped the history of the time. The program will look at their organization, strategy, and tactics, as well as, the weapons and armor used by both the Templars and their enemies. The legend surrounding the Templars will be discussed along with how it obscures their efforts to project power in the Middle East. The lecture will conclude with a look at the catastrophic fall of the order and the extinction of the Christian kingdoms in the eastern Mediterranean.

Admission is $6 for adults and $4 for students. Museum members receive a 50% discount. Seating is limited. Reservations are not required but appreciated. The museum will open at 1:00pm for visitors that would like to see the exhibits beforehand. Contact the museum at 608-685-4231 or info@castlerockmuseum.com for more details.
