Children and young learners (between 12-18 years old) will learn to speak Irish in a structured yet immersive environment. They will learn to converse in Irish as they would in English on everyday topics such as discussing their favorite pastimes, school events, family vacations, sports, etc. The instructor will supply a booklet of exercises (for $10.00) and readings for students. For students who wish to progress further with the Irish language, they can aim for the Teastas Eorpach na Gaeilge, a European Pass for Irish/Certificate in Proficiency exam which covers various levels of proficiency.

A native speaker from the Connemara Gaeltacht, Lavinia Finnerty graduated from the National University of Ireland Galway (NUIG). Lavinia has many years’ experience in teaching Irish in both Ireland and internationally.

In the EML. Class fee: $108 (if you email the instructor to pre-register) or $120 (at first class). Contact Lavinia Finnerty: l.seoighe3@gmail.com
