If we lose one teenager to suicide, it’s too many. Sadly, over the past year; in our community alone---we’ve lost several. This is unacceptable & this is our problem. As a community, we owe it to our kids to proactively learn how to prevent this tragedy. It can feel overwhelming, but together—we CAN make a difference; even if it’s just for one life!
To open a discussion about this topic, we will be gathering in the Fellowship Hall at Central Christian Center, (417 N. Main St. – Downtown Joplin) in a “town hall” fashion to listen & discuss how we can more effectively insert ourselves into the lives of our children & the youth of our community.
We will have the privilege to hear from Chris Jones, who is already working in our community to engage with our youth & speak truth into their lives. He is a former youth pastor & has over 20 years experience working with youth at The Ozark Center. Together with Chris, other community members, parents & youth…we will discuss how to equip ourselves to show our kids that their needs are important, that they are loved, supported & that they matter!
This event is FREE & OPEN TO THE PUBLIC! Please, make time to gain the knowledge needed & together, let’s make a difference in our community!
