Good Deeds Day is an international event where communities come together to do good, and Berkeley is no exception!
Join us on April 11th to partake in some community service projects, Challah For hunger, creating "basic needs kits" for BOSS, the homeless shelter in Berkeley, decorating shabbat meal bags, and more!
After doing some good we will be holding a social with food for all the participants! Don't miss out on this great opportunity to do something good for the community!
Put the date in your calendar and invite your friends to this page!
Here's some more information about the groups we are supporting!
Challah for Hunger is a national non-profit organization that works to combat food insecurity on college campuses by baking and selling challah bread. Our Berkeley Chapter donates 50% of its proceeds to MAZON, a Jewish organization that fights hunger, and 50% to the UC Berkeley Food Pantry. Challah for Hunger meets every Thursday at 6:30 pm, and we encourage everyone to come!
BOSS, Building Opportunities for Self Sufficiency, are dedicated to helping homeless, poor, and disabled people achieve health and self-sufficiency, and to fighting against the root causes of poverty and homelessness. More information can be found on their website: https://self-sufficiency.org/
