On April 14th, join us at the Blue Moon Coffeehouse in nearby Rockland for some contemporary Irish music with The Lindsays. By turns rollicking and poignant, a show by the Lindsays music seems to touch on the full spectrum of emotion. They play a mix of contemporary songs, old ballads, and Irish traditional jigs and reels. Susan plays sax, Irish flute, and whistle, and Stephen, a native of Dublin, Ireland, plays guitar and sings. In full-band configuration, they are joined by Ted Mello on upright bass. The music deeply honors the Irish folk tradition, but also reflects who they are and where they've been, from folk to rock to blues to jazz to world. The first studio CD “From the Green to the Blue” was released in November 2010. Their live CD, “Live at Church of the Pilgrimage” came out in 2007. Susan Gedutis Lindsay is the author of See You at the Hall: Boston’s Golden Era of Irish Music and Dance. Tickets are $10 at the door. The show starts at 7:30. The address is 45 Webster Street in Rockland, MA, just beside the post office. Hope to see you there!
