Cathy Kangas, CEO and Founder of PRAI Beauty, announced today that Charleston Animal Society will participate in a “Free the Shelters” adoption event running now through November 6, 2017. Thanks to the generosity of PRAI Beauty, all adoption fees will be covered for animals adopted during this time.
“We cannot thank PRAI Beauty enough for this free adoption event,” said Charleston Animal Society CEO Joe Elmore. “The timing is perfect, as we have just brought in 31 dogs who were evacuated from Puerto Rico, which was struck last month by Hurricane Maria.”
“Free the Shelters” was launched by PRAI Beauty in May and to date has helped more than1,300 animals get adopted at 18 shelters across the country. PRAI skincare products are certified cruelty-free and the company donates a portion of every sale to helping animals which is important to Kangas, a member of the Board of Directors of The Humane Society of the United States.
“We know that large municipal shelters along with those in rural areas have hundreds of animals looking for homes,” said Kangas. “We are delighted to work with Charleston Animal Society. We believe that waiving adoption fees at shelters will solve the problem of homeless animals. Shelters should be short-term foster homes rather than long-term jail sentences for companion animals.”
Please visit Charleston Animal Society at 2455 Remount Road in North Charleston, 29406. See the adoptable pets at: www.CharlestonAnimalSociety.org.The shelter is open weekdays noon – 5pm and weekends 10am – 5pm.
