April is #CBRdogMonth! That means every bar we run to this month is dog friendly, so bring your furry running buddy out for some great exercise and social time! We'll be fundraising and raising awareness for local shelters here in Charleston.
This Thursday we're running to Revelry Brewing and fundraising for Pet Helpers Adoption Shelter and Spay/Neuter Clinic! Our good friends at Revelry have agreed to donate $1 from every pint sold at this event to Pet Helpers! So come on out, bring your furry running buddies, and help drink for a cause! In addition to Revelry's donation, we'll also be collecting cash money to donate to Pet Helpers at this run. Pet Helpers will have a few representatives (human and K9) at the gazebo, and at the bar--some of the pups will be up for adoption and a few will be looking for a human running buddy to help get them to the bar! Join our Facebook Group for a chance to get partnered up with a lovable pup for the run! When we get to the bar, please visit the Pet Helpers table to learn about everything they do and more ways to help (and to drop off any cash donations you may have)!
Furthermore, all throughout the month of April, our Furry Charleston Beer Runners will be building their mileage to raise donations for a local shelter of their choice--sign up here (https://goo.gl/forms/YwN1muWCiFwGXVC73) to Sponsor a Pup, and come out and run with your furry Beer Runners and help them raise their fundraising goals! If you Sponsor a Pup, you're pledging to donate $1 for every mile the pup runs in the Month of April to the shelter of their choosing, and helping to make a difference in the local community!
For everyone's safety, ALL pups will be kept on a leash during the run and while at the bar. Please abide by this simple rule--failure to do so could jeopardize future CBR Dog Runs, or hurt our relationships with local bars. Please be courteous to other runners and other bar patrons, and keep your pup under control.

From the gazebo, we'll take a right and run around the park. Left on 10th, then left on Dunnemann and run the Dunneman loop (follow the road around the plantation--right on 5th, right on St. Margaret, left on 6th--then right on Gordon) all the way back to 10th. Left on 10th, then turn at all the "T's" till Rutledge--left, right then right. (Left on Alberta, right on Devereaux, right on Peachtree.) Right on Rutledge, left on Cypress, right on Meeting, left on Conroy, and the bar will be on our left! (~3.5 mi)
Want a shorter route?
(~2.4 mi) From the gazebo, run around the park then head out the park via Cleveland. Left on Rutledge, right on Cypress, and the rest of the route is unchanged.
(~1.4 mi) From the gazebo, head straight out the park via Cleveland. Left on Rutledge, right on Cypress, and the rest of the route is unchanged.
Hampton Park: gazebo (start) & lake
Remember to bring your ID and some money for the bar!
It's getting dark out there, so please wear something bright and reflective! Flashing lights are a great and easy way to be seen by traffic. Also, the bugs are starting to bite so don't forget the bug spray!
