Dudes & Dolly is a tribute show to Dolly Parton featuring some of Charleston’s best male vocalists. This show is a twist on our “Women &” Series. We have presented 9 “Women &” concerts in which local female vocalists take on male singers, such as Tom Waits, Bob Dylan, and Neil Young. The series has been a blast for us and has been a great way to get an amazing group of local musicians onto the Music Hall stage. In November, for the next instalment in this concert series, we will have all male vocalists take on one of the most influential women in the music industry, Dolly Parton. All female bands will back these male vocalists. The best part about the "Women & Series" is the way the female vocalists have interpreted the male vocal range and sounds, and we are excited to turn this on its head and hear what the men will do with classic Dolly Parton songs. The evening will consists of two sets with two different bands. The first set will consist of singers - John Holenko, Bob Culver, Joe Marlow, Jeff Meierer, and David Grant and will be backed by the band The Cotton Ginnys: Hazel Ketchum (Drums), Kristen Meierer (Bass), Lisa Deakins (Fiddle), Lauren Bevins-Cahill (Mandolin). The second set will consist of singers - Joel Hamilton, Bill Carson, Matt Williams, Johnnie Matthews, and will be backed by The Western Polaroids: Jess Oliver (Drums), Kim Larson (Bass), Camille Rhoden (Keys), Lindsay Holler (Guitar).

The “Women & Series” is the brainchild of local musicians Lindsay Holler and Hazel Ketchum who thought it would be interesting to have women interpret the songs of Tom Waits back in 2015. It was a magical evening indeed. So magical, that we decided to keep the series rolling through 2016 with Women & Young, Women & Bowie, Women & Dylan, and Women & Radiohead. The series has continued in 2017 with Women & The Rolling Stones, Women & Leonard Cohen, Women & Gram Parson, and Women & Cooke (Oct. 6). We have gathered an amazing and diverse line up of singers ranging from ages 18 to 63! We will be announcing our 2018 “Women & Series” at Dudes & Dolly. We plan on presenting four more concerts in 2018 and will be announcing all four shows at the same time with a subscription available for the entire series.
