San Marcos, TX songwriting local, Amado Gonzalez is about to release his debut album. Recorded live in 2 days, the album is a blend of Americana textures with the “take it or leave it” attitude of punk rock. Despite the Distance recalls life in your twenties which leaves you strangely hopeful, even if simply for the fact that you’re lucky to still be alive.

Despite the Distance will be available 05.06.18 following the band’s album release show in San Marcos, TX. The first 200 to preorder the album will also receive a free digital copy to share with a distant friend or loved one. The first two singles, “Tennessee” and “Photograph” available for streaming now. Listen on Spotify and Apple Music.

For the last two years, local San Marcos songwriters have heard Amado’s music and encouraged him to sit down with producer David Beck. Beck, just after moving to Nashville, agreed to fly back for a quick tracking session. Along with friends and collaborators Dees Stribling (drums), George Pappas (guitar, viola) and Nate Guthrie (mandolin) they tracked the entire album in two days. It was mixed within a week in Austin, TX.
