Sunday April 1st ~ Public Holiday Eve!
Queens of the Stone Age Vs The Smashing Pumpkins + Alt-rock bangers!
It’s FREE ENTRY before 9PM and only $10 thereafter!
Live bands early too in Atomic Riot & Bloody Rascals.
We thought let’s make use of this Public Holiday eve at Cherry so we’ll have Chezza Dj’s playing HEAPS of Queens of the Stone Age and Smashing Pumpkins (like all the best from both) along with just dope alt-rock tracks all night too!
It’s like the LA Times once printed, ‘Some bands are better than others. Chord by chord, line by line, beat by beat, hook by glorious hook, none is as convincing as Queens Of The Stone Age.’ Oooffftt tru. Record after record giving us absolute belter tunes and riffage made for generator party's in the Cali’ desert. Or a public eve party in Melbourne.
With all the hoopla and debate of the “re-united” classic ’90’s incarnation of Pumpkins (Any Darcy fans out there??) we thought what better reason to whip out the ZERO shirt and revisit all their monster tunes…. Their classic debut LP Gish, shoegaze tinged sophomore effort Siamese Dreams and the ridiculously grandiose and ambitious “two-disc” Mellon Collie and the Infinite Sadness that we all cherish!
So we're going late for this one and it should be a ripper night! So come along and scuff our dance floor up whilst we highlight the best from these two dope bands along with all your favourite alt-rock hits!
With doors from 9PM, we'll have Bloody Rascals kickin' things off (fun new band we had smash out a month long residency with us back in February) followed by Atomic Riot who'll bring their high energy, circa '70's and '80's Hard Rock and Metal inspired rock&roll show to the Cherry stage!
