The parinirvana of the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa, Rinpoche is a day for the Shambhala sangha to gather together to celebrate his life and teachings.
The intention for the evening is to do practices we have received from the Vidyadhara, Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche and to awaken his teachings within us as individual practitioners and as a community.
In particular, students practice The Sadhana of Mahamudra. Trungpa Rinpoche received this practice sadhana while he was on retreat in Bhutan in 1968 and it has been practiced by Shambhala students since he introduced it soon after his arrival in North America.
Sadhana of Mahamudra Potluck Feast Practice, 6:30 PM (6:00 PM Set-Up). Open to all. Bring a dish or drink to share. We will provide some beverages and food, but additional items will make the feast complete.
There will be a celebratory period during the feast section where devotional poems, songs, dances and other remembrances of the Buddha activity of the founder of Shambhala can be offered. You are invited to share an inspired offering.
Although there is no charge for attending this celebration, please register online so we know to expect you! In the notes, please indicate what you will bring for the potluck, if you know.
