Saturday, April 07th , 2018 - 05:00 pm to 05:45 pm:Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra (Vajra Cutter) Reading
'The Vajra Cutter Sutra is unbelievable!'------Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche
'Vajra Cutter Sutra' or the 'Diamond Sutra' is called Vajracchedikā Prajñāpāramitā Sūtra in Sanskrit. It contains the discourse of Gautama Buddha to a senior monk, Subhuti. The story goes like this-- the Buddha had finished his daily walk to Sravasti with the monks to gather offerings of food, and he sits down to rest. Venerable Subhuti comes forth and asks the Buddha a question. What follows is a dialogue regarding the nature of the 'Perfection of Insight' (Prajnaparamita) and the nature of ultimate reality. Checkout the sutra at http://fpmt.org/education/teachings/sutras/vajra-cutter-sutra/ and DO NOT miss reading the benefits! The reading session will be led by a senior CKSL student.
Saturday, April 07th , 2018 - 06:00 pm to 08:00 pm: Medicine Buddha Puja led by Venerable Gyalten Rabten
Medicine Buddha is the manifestation of the healing energy of all enlightened beings. Prayers to the seven Medicine Buddhas are especially powerful because of the extensive prayers they made to benefit sentient beings. They strongly prayed for the temporal and ultimate happiness of all sentient beings and vowed that their prayers would be actualised during times of need.
“The Medicine Buddha encompasses all the Buddhas. This means that when we practice the seven-limb prayer and make offerings with the seven limbs, we receive the same merit as we would if we had made offerings to all the Buddhas. Similarly, when we recite the mantra of Medicine Buddha, we collect unbelievable merit just as when we offer the seven-limb practice to Medicine Buddha.” - Kyabje Lama Zopa Rinpoche
Therefore, the Medicine Buddha Practice is not only very effective for healing and serious illnesses, but also to bring success in work, business and studies in general.
Adept in meditation techniques & proficient in conducting Buddhist ceremonies, Venerable Gyalten Rabten will be leading the programs this weekend. Born and raised in Singapore, Venerable Rabten is one of our senior Teachers at CKSL from the Sera Je Monastery in Bylakupe (Karnataka).

"The Bark of Sugarcane has no Juice;
The delightful taste is inside.
People who chew the bark cannot
Discover the flavour of sugarcane.
Now the bark is like mere talk;
The taste is thinking about the meaning."
