***WORKSHOP DESCRIPTIONS***

Lil B - Locking:
Lil’s B’s class will cover core rhythm and grooves combined with locking basics so that students can build a strong foundation within the style. Students will practice drills, combine techniques into different patterns, and learn variations to build their own locking freestyle. In preparation for Waack, Crackle, Lock!, the last portion of class will be devoted to battle advice and tactics.

Firelock - Locking:
Firelock’s class will be a high-energy workshop consisting of different locking vocabulary, intense drills, and plays on different music. This class is open to all levels, from beginners to experienced dancers.

Lorena - Waacking:
This workshop will focus on waacking fundamentals and technique. Students will go over lines, poses, arm rolls, and musicality exercises, as well as move across the floor with different grooves and footwork. The class will also end with a short choreography piece that applies techniques reviewed during class.

Noelle - Intersections: Waacking (& Street Dance) & Self:
Noelle Marie will facilitate a movement workshop that explores the connection between street dance and identity and the ways in which our intentions leak into and lead our freestyle expression. Within this workshop, participants will explore how different facets of their persona enter their expression. Using waacking as a primary mode of instruction, the hour will be used connecting with the elements and environment, with oneself, and with each other, leading the group to an eventual cypher. Bringing a notebook and writing utensil is encouraged. All styles and all levels of dance are welcome.
