The City of Pleasanton will celebrate Earth Day on Sunday, April 22 to promote green living in Pleasanton. This event is free and open to the public and activities will include:
Creek and Park Clean Up from 9 a.m. to noon at various locations in Pleasanton for ages 7 and up. Pre-registration is required; go to www.pleasantonfun.com, registration code 6303. A variety of activities will be held at the Pleasanton Library and Civic Center Campus from 1 to 4 p.m.
Educational Presentations and Workshops will be held in the Library Community Room:
1 p.m. – Go Green Initiative
1:35 p.m. – “Plant Doctor” presentation by Earl Weak, Alameda Master Gardener
2:30 p.m. – Home Energy Upgrades presented by StopWaste
3:25 p.m. – Screening of film Straws
Free Onsite Document Shredding will be held at City Hall, 123 Main Street. Residents can discard a maximum of three banker boxes per car. Residents will enter the site from Bernal Avenue (between Main Street and the Police Department)
Environmental/Recycling Resources and Children’s Activities will be held on the Pleasanton Library outdoor patios. Vendors such as the Go Green Initiative, Pleasanton Garbage Service, StopWaste, and Alameda Master Gardeners will be providing information and resources to attendees.
