Join us for the 2018 National Prescription Drug Take Back Day! This National event is a partnered effort with the Federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) and local law enforcement agencies across the US, teaming up to combat the opioid epidemic.

This community event was created to enhance public awareness of the risks of prescription drug abuse and the importance of properly disposing of medications no longer needed or expired.

Minnesota has been hit hard by the opioid epidemic and were are losing too many people to opioid abuse. Part of curbing opioid abuse is encouraging community members to safely and properly dispose of medications no longer needed.

Since the start of the nationwide events, over 9 million pounds of prescription drugs have been safely collected for disposal. In October 2017 this event collected 13 tons of unwanted medications in Minnesota alone!

We will continue to raise public awareness and encourage the public to dispose of these unwanted medications to help combat the opioid epidemic to help prevent accidental overdoses as well as ground water contamination.

Please join us on Saturday April 28, 2018 from 10 AM to 2 PM at the Cloquet Police Department to surrender any unwanted or expired prescription drugs.
