More Than a Million Low-Income Families Now Eligible for California’s New, Expanded Earned Income Tax Credit
Every year, $2B in state EITC money is unclaimed

Help us spread the word! More Californians are eligible for a state tax refund through the Earned Income Tax Credit, which primarily benefits working families with children. Assemblymember Phil Ting (D-San Francisco), Chair of the Assembly Budget Committee, fought to expand the program through the state budget process last year. Beginning for the 2017 tax year:

• Income limit is now $22,300 (vs $14,161 in 2016)
• Self-employed workers in gig economy now eligible
