We hope to see you all at The Point on Friday, April 13th, from 6:30 pm - 9:00 pm. During this event you'll meet the talented artist behind our current display, Angela McClellan. Angela has been in love with painting portraits ever since she was in high school. Whenever she was in her art classes, she would move an assignment into a portrait or something else with a lot of depth. She mostly draws portraits of singers, actors and celebrities that she most admires. She’s also done portraits of her friends and family.
Most of her portraits are done in ebony pencils. She’ll then go in with colored ink and acrylic paint here and there. It takes McClellan 24 to 36 hours to finish one portrait, which equals a couple weeks, taking one to two hours a day to work on it.
McClellan’s art had been featured at the 2017 Black Arts Festival, as well as other Colorado lounges and galleries such as the Core New Arts Space on Santa Fe Drive in Denver, the Mynt Mojito Lounge on Market St. in Denver, the Colorado Plus Brew Pub and Taphouse in Wheat Ridge and more.
McClellan has her business, Acrylic Ebony Ink Originals. To learn more, visit https://www.facebook.com/AngelaRMcClellan.
