Somali Culture Week (SCW) is a weeklong initiative dedicated to educating the University of Minnesota campus and the Twin Cities community about the rich Somali culture and heritage, as well as an opportunity to connect the local Somali community. SCW will be our official kick-off to Somali Night which will be on April 20 in Northrop auditorium from 7-10pm. Doors open at 6pm. Our first event will be on Monday, April 16th for an evening showcasing surrounding Somali professionals sharing stories/experiences! We will start off with a panel Q&A for insights on the panelist's professional journey. The evening will end with dinner and a chance to network with the panelists and other Somali professionals. The event will take place in the Mississippi Room in Coffman; doors open at 5:30PM and the event will start promptly at 6PM.
The second event will be a Somali themed trivial night! How Somali are you? How much do you know about the Somali culture, history, and people? Come test your knowledge at Trivia Night which will include both Jeopardy rounds and the top players will head into a final round of Family Feud. You and your team members will get a chance to win prizes including gift cards, SSA gear, and the best of all FREE tickets to 2018 Somali night! There will also be a special guest attending this event who will also be at Somali night so you won't want to miss it. Of course, dinner will be provided.
