Developing Awareness of the Assessment of Writing - Veronica Quintieri

Do we teachers take assessment of writing seriously enough? Do we use assessment to support learning and the writing process? When we think about writing assessment carefully, there are many questions to address. What kinds of writing samples should be assessed? What should be done with writing samples once we have them? What criteria should be used to assess writing? We will address these issues in this workshop and show how different types of assessment can help our students to improve their writing skills.

Developing Awareness of the Assessment of Speaking - Veronica Quintieri

What’s the best way to assess speaking? What criteria should I use when assessing speaking? Does the way we assess help our students improve their speaking skills? What tasks should we use to assess our students' speaking skills? These are some of the questions teachers face in their jobs.
