Sound School is honoured to present VARIOUS ASSES, the ambitious project from Melbourne electronic producer and drummer Raquel Solier, previously known under the guise Fatti Frances. Various Asses fuses bent trap, frantic house and fractured vocal samples designed to make you move and scare the living shit out of you.
The third event in Sound School’s 2018 artist showcase series, will have Raquel breaking down her practice - exploring her unique approach to sound design, drum programming and sampling. This will be followed by a tutorial for producing in FL Studio (as used by Jlin, Metro Boomin, Mike Q)
Participants are encouraged to bring their own laptop to take part in this production tutorial. Download and install the demo version of Image Line FL Studio 12 - watch this page for the sample pack we’ll have available for download for use in the tutorial.
(note: FL Studio is a Windows software, however a BETA build is available for Mac OS - https://forum.image-line.com/viewtopic.php?t=177123)
All Sound School events are free of charge. Collingwood Arts Precinct is a wheelchair accessible venue - please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility. This event will take place on the unceded lands of the Wurundjeri peoples of the Kulin nations. We pay our respects to elders past, present, and emerging, and acknowledge that genocide is ongoing and sovereignty was never ceded.
Sound School is a community project upskilling and celebrating queer, women, people of colour, and people with disabilities making electronic music. We are funded by the Australia Council for the Arts.
