Join Maudie Gunzi from The Book Hut Worthing for a demonstration of key techniques in the preparation of flat works of art on paper for mounting and framing. Aimed at artists preparing their works for Worthing Artist Open Houses and other exhibitions, the workshop will cover:

Float mounting - mounting flat works of art on paper onto a secondary paper support in preparation for display with or without a window mount and associated display techniques - including wrapping over mount board, polythene strapping and installing into window mounts.

Maudie is a Book and Paper Conservator working at The Book Hut and at the Victoria & Albert Museum in London and was previously Book and Paper Conservator at The National Archives and National Conservation Service.
In addition to conservation she is also, at the V&A, preparing flat works of art on paper for international exhibitions, in-house displays, and the loaning of museum art works. It is some of these museum techniques that will be demonstrated and discussed.

After the demonstration there will be the opportunity to purchase conservation materials that can be hard to buy in low volumes, such as wheat starch paste and Japanese tissue.

Please note - this demonstration will not include:
- Preparation of oil paintings.
- Works of art on canvas.
- Mount cutting.
