Does canola improve soil tilth? On the first Wednesday in April, the 4th, Kate Reardon, John Williams, and Stewart Wuest will share data investigating the effects of canola and other brassica crops on soil aggregation. Ever since rapeseed and canola have been grown in the Pacific Northwest, we have heard reports of noticeable effects on water infiltration and power requirements for tillage. We took advantage of the Systems Trial to make comparisons, and we had to look hard to find differences. We will be interested in the experiences of others as we draw conclusions.
