10th Annual Bad Poetry Night!
Theme based challenge poems, blind readings, witty haiku, and totally original prose about any number of topics. From clever puns to the most titillating levels of blue humor performed with PowerPoint presentations, interpretive dancing, or stylish music accompanied dramatic readings. BPN has so much poetic humor packed into one evening you only need to go once a year.
When amateur poets compete you win!
You do not need to write any poems to attend BPN. Just come and enjoy the show.
If you would like to participate and read some bad poems this year we have changed a couple things this year so please read the instructions below.
Original Poem - Any format, any topic, any presentation style. You want to put on a PowerPoint, great. Maybe a poem with musical accompaniment, sounds great. Even an interpretive dance, strange but also acceptable. You can even just read a poem without anything extra. It’s up to you.
Haiku Round - Write 3 original haiku. They can all be about the same thing or all be totally different.
Found Poem - You will be handed a poem minutes before performing it on stage. Plus side is you don’t have to do anything other then sign up. Down side is you have no idea what you have to say live on stage.
Challenge Round - Theme challenge! Write an original poem that relates to and is your own interpretation of the theme. This years them is: Friday the 13th.
HOW TO PARTICIPATE:
BPN signups are done online and in advance of the show. To sign up simply go here: https://goo.gl/forms/jeL1zE9TsD1iSkwK2 and fill out the short submission form. No information about your poem(s) will be collected. Filling out the form doesn't commit you to performing, I just need to know how many people are wanting to perform poems for each category.
If anyone has any additional questions about Bad Poetry Night please feel free to contact me.
*Last thing, keep in mind that this is an event with offensive and profane material. So if you might be offended by such things its best if you just don’t come.
