The Great Famine in Word and Song will feature readings, poetry and song relating to the impact of the Famine on Irish people and their cultural heritage. Topics range from contemporary experience of the disaster to more recent reflections on the catastrophe, and poems about the power of song to console and reshape the culture. Performers will include award-winning actors, musicians, writers and poets: Barry McGovern, Catriona Ní Mhurchú, Brian and Diarmuid Mac Gloin (of Ye Vagabonds), and Moya Cannon.
