Our core aim at CommuniTree is to reconnect people of all ages with nature. In this project, we hope to harness the powerful healing effects of the great outdoors and its positive impact on health and wellbeing, whilst also using it as a platform for foster families to forge closer relationships with one and other.
We hope to achieve this aim over a series of 3 consecutive weekly sessions in a local woodland. Each session will include an element of outdoor cooking, in which we plan to get families cooking together around the campfire with fresh, home grown ingredients, making tasty meals such as healthy calzone pizzas! As well as this, we will also be running 3 nature based activities that will include activities such as den building, bushcraft skills, storytelling and woodland yoga.
This event is free to all taking part thanks to funding from Bury Council. If you are currently caring for a LAC up to the age of 13 and would like to take part with your family, please email email@example.com to find out more. You must be available to attend all of the sessions and there is a maximum capacity of 35 places.
