Earth Day in North Richmond is an annual celebration that brings together residents, agencies, and businesses to beautify community spaces and celebrate unity. The 8th Annual North Richmond Earth Day Festival is scheduled for Saturday, April 21st and is being planned by the North Richmond Earth Day Steering Committee. The committee is made up of residents, community based organizations, Contra Costa County and City of Richmond agencies.
This year’s Earth Day will host three impactful community service projects during the morning hours with a celebration in the afternoon. You can sponsor a specific activity, such as food, kids activities and etc. or support the festival as a whole.
Community Service Projects 9:00-11:00 am
• Community Mural: The launch of Rancho Market and Deli mural on the corner of 5th Street and Market Ave @ 500 Market Street, Richmond, CA
• Wildcat Creek Clean up: in front of Verde Elementary @ 2000 Giaramita
• Shields Reid Beautification: street and center clean up at Shields Reid Center, as well as, gardening and tree planting @ 1410 Kelsey Street
Earth Day Celebration 12:00-3:00 pm
• Kids activities: face painting, jumpers, petting zoo, art activities and more. 40+ Interactive and resource booths. Food and Entertainment that uplifts local talent. Little league baseball games.
