I am proud to present Adham Shaikh and the Outerworld Orchestra. This show is going to be a full on experience with a 6 piece world music live band mixed with an electronic backbeat, and an incredible visual show to boot. Adham Shaikh is known around the world as a tastemaker and musician on the pulse of what is happening now. He is the most consistent producer/DJ in Canada as far as I can see it, as I have seen him perform many times in the last 20+ years and he has never let me down. This is the show I have been waiting for all year, and I am happy to share it with you.

The doors are at 8pm, and the live band starts at 9pm. This show will be all ages, and have a bar.
Tickets will be on sale at Abraxas, Denman Store, & Bop City for $20 in advance, $25 at the door, and $5 for teens at the door. 12 and under are always free to come and enjoy the music.


Adham Shaikh

Adham Shaikh is a Emmy and Juno Award-nominated music producer, composer, sound designer, and DJ who brings his uniquely powerful global sounds to the world stage and screen, not to mention many a crowded dance floor.

Adham has scored original soundtracks for numerous film and television productions, including National Geographic (Emmy nomination) , Sacred Planet (Disney Imax), Velcrow Ripper’s Fierce Light (National Film Board, Fierce Light Films), Rainbow Jaguars’ Earth Pilgrim, Word Love (Avanti Pictures), Getting Married (TVO), and Secrets: A Parent’s Guide to the Teen Sexual Revolution (CBC’s Passionate Eye, Make Believe Media), for which he received a Leo Award for Best Musical Score in a Documentary Program. His music has also been licensed to an extensive list of media productions, including BBC Orphan BlacK , Suzuki Speaks (Avanti Pictures). Look out for his latest original work on the upcoming television series The Edge of the World: BC’s Early Years (Knowledge).

As a music producer and composer
Shaikh skillfully weaves organic and electronic sounds into global music tapestries that take listeners on sonic journeys transcending time and place. He has released 14 albums and many individual compositions, among them the 2004 release, Fusion, which was nominated for a Juno Award (Canadian Grammy) in the World Music category and Universal Frequencies (2010) which won best album ( BC Independent Music awards) Music labels from around the globe have released his music, including BlackSwann Sounds Interchill, Dakini Records, Electronic Soundscapes, Liquid Sound Design, Native State, One World Music, Water Music, Nia, Sounds True, Stoned Asia, and the infamous Six Degrees. Recently, Shaikh co-produced and mixed the award-winning debut CD for global fusion group Delhi 2 Dublin, Produced the new Buckman Coe album and has finished re-mixing tracks for internationally renowned world fusion artists Nickodemus, Deya Dova, Kaya Project, Tripswitch and David Starfire. Shaikh has most recently completed remixes for Delhi2Dublin, Deset Dwellers, Juno nominated arttist Eccodeck, Issa Bagayogo, Ganga Giri , and the Footsteps in Africa Project (Turag remix)

Shaikh’s work as both a live performer and a DJ has taken him to international festivals, events, and night clubs, including the Waveform Festival (UK), Envision Festival (Costa Rica), Water Women Festival (Ecuador) Samothraki Dance Festival (Greece), Dakini Nights (Tokyo), Luminate (New Zealand), The Maori Peace Festival at Parihaka (New Zealand), Hadra Trance (France), Goulash Disko Festival (Croatia) and Boom Festival (Portugal). He has toured extensively across North America,

DJ Eliazar has been travelling the globe spreading the Vintage Remix and Electro Swing sounds from his secret rebel base in the rouge nation of Denmanistan in the territorial waters of Columbia Britanna. The quest for new aural excitement flowed from growing up in Chicago within a thriving industrial, punk, new wave, and burgeoning house music scene in the late 80s. In more recent times while galavanting in Montreal he was a co-founder of the Speakeasy Electro Swing group of events that now span the globe with events in 18 cities in 9 countries, as well as co founding the Balkan Beats events which have inspired many a sweaty patron to dance on tables since 2010. 2017 is a big year for Eliazar, with another EP release for his Whiskey Tango Foxtrot band (with Atom Percy and JS Leblanc), a new Electro Blues compilation for Speakeasy Recordings, the Speakeasy 6 year anniversary show in Montreal, slots at the Boomtown festival in the UK, starting the Neon Time Machine series in Victoria, producing the Cross-Pollination Festival on Denman, and so much more. Highlights included playing at the Smithsonian in DC, The Bulldog Cafe in Mexico City, Montreal Jazzfest for 5 nights, private shows in the Yukon,Greensville Festival (Berlin) Diversity Festival (Texada, BC), Boomtown Faire (UK), Gabriola Music Festival, & The Atmosphere Gathering in Cumberland, BC.
