FAC and Mostly Waltz for Boston present monthly Sunday afternoon sessions of live music for waltzes and other couple dances. Beginners, experienced dancers, singles, and couples are all welcome.
Our April dance starts with a dance lesson from 2 to 3pm, followed by open couple dancing until 5:30pm to the fabulous music of Becky Tracy (fiddle) and Keith Murphy (guitar, mandolin, piano).
A variety of waltz tunes and tempos are played during the session; every third number is a different couple dance, such as a polka, hambo, schottische, swing, tango, one-step, or zwiefacher.
Contributions of goodies for the refreshment table are much appreciated!
For the comfort and well-being of all our dancers, especially those with allergies or asthma, the Concord Scout House requests that we refrain from using scented products at its events. To protect the wooden floor and to make turning easier, please change from street shoes to clean shoes, ideally leather-soled, before dancing.
