The Concordia Orchestra and Concordia's four choirs — The Concordia Choir, Concordia Chapel Choir, Cantabile and Kantorei — will perform the following works in their annual Masterworks Concert:
"An Outdoor Overture," by Aaron Copland, is a delightful orchestral score which serves as the perfect way to begin a concert presented on Earth Day.
"Song of Democracy," by Howard Hanson, features texts by Walt Whitman that discuss the importance of educating young people for the betterment of our future.
"Dona Nobis Pacem" by R. Vaughan Williams also features texts by Walt Whitman which describe the horrors of war. The work makes an impassioned plea to strive for world peace.
The concert will be held in Memorial Auditorium at Concordia College. All are welcome to attend this performance free of charge. No tickets required.
