COMMUNITY SERVICE HOURS FOR PBC PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS
Congregation Shaarei Kodesh is hosting a one-day
"Never Again" Holocaust Symposium
Sunday, April 15 from 9:30 am to 3:00 pm
Expert speakers from the Anti-Defamation League, the Palm Beach County School District and other organizations will provide cutting-edge presentations on Holocaust history, its relevancy to current events and available local public school resources. Includes a light brunch. Adults must accompany their children - this is not a drop off program.
Confirmed speakers (and their topics) include:
Keynote speaker Maureen Carter, Holocaust Studies Program Planner for the Palm Beach County School District ("K-12 Holocaust Education")
Rabbi David Baum ("The History of Anti-Semitism & How To Talk About It With Your Kids")
Norman Frajman, Holocaust Survivor
Lonnie Wilk and Melissa Rayman, Anti-Defamation League ("Words to Action" - A program that empowers students to address anti-Semitism)
Ilene Prusher, Journalist and Professor at FAU ("Journalism - Where Do We Cross The Line?")
The Symposium is free and open to the public (ages 13 and over) but space is limited.
All attendees MUST provide valid phone ID for admission.
The "Never Again" Holocaust Symposium is made possible by a generous contribution from the Jewish Federation of South Palm Beach County.
