No Lost Generation and the Prisons and Justice Initiative are thrilled to be hosting Credible Fear: The Rise of Immigration Detention in the United States. The panel and Q&A will feature Claudia Cubas, the Litigation Director at Capital Area Immigrants Rights (CAIR); Lindsay M. Harris, Assistant Professor and Co-Director of the Immigration and Human Rights Clinic at the University of DC Law School; and Dr. Susan Terrio, a Georgetown University Anthropology Professor and author of "Whose Child am I? Undocumented, Unaccompanied Minors in US Immigration Custody."

The conversation will explore the history of detention in the US asylum process, as well as current practices and conditions in detention facilities. The future of immigration detention under the Trump Administration, alternatives to detention, and recommendations for how students can get involved through activism, volunteering and awareness-building will also be addressed.
