The Moose Brothers are four old friends that met forty years ago in Minneapolis and have been playing music together ever since. Two now live in Texas and two remain in Minnesota, but they get together a couple of times per year and play their brains out. They each work professionally as solo and group performers, and they are masters of their instruments and great songwriters. They’ll play original songs, traditional and folk tunes, classic country and swing music, and other surprises are bound to happen.
The group is comprised of:
Bill “Wailin’ Willie” Smith from Minneapolis, Minnesota - vocals, harmonica and guitar
John Ashton from Proctor, Minnesota, vocals and guitar
Fredy Argir from Driftwood, Texas – vocals, guitar
George Traugott from Bastrop, Texas – banjo, English concertina, guitar and upright bass
The group appeared last year at the Copper Shot in April as the first group to play music for the “On The Porch” series. Come down, join us for a beverage and see some of the best!
