Join MEChA de Cornell, the Cornell Filipino Association, and alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority Inc., for our second annual United Farm Workers Unity Week!

Schedule of events:

MONDAY, 3/26: Come join MEChA de Cornell Political Chair Barbara Cruz and Tagalog Independent Study Student Aubrey Alabanza Akers to discuss the connections and kinship that Mexican-Americans share with Filipinos, inspired by Dr. Anthony Christian Ocampo's book, The Latinos of Asia: How Filipino Americans Break the Rules of Race. Professor Savella of Asian Studies who teaches Tagalog will also be a guest! 7:00pm in Rockefeller Hall 122.
There will be pizza, and vegan pizza as well.

TUESDAY, 3/27: We will be helping to support the visit of two farmworker groups, Familias Unidas por la Justicia and The Alianza Agrícola on Tuesday, March 27th at 6:00 pm. The Upstate NY Farmworker Speaking Tour will take place at First Unitarian Society of Ithaca, located at 306 N. Aurora Street.

Come learn about what farmworkers view as critical priorities for NYS.

More about Familias Unidas por la Justicia:
The union of independent agricultural workers from Washington State. The only labor union led by over 400 indigenous Mixteco and Triqui farmworkers.

More about The Alianza Agrícola:
The Alianza Agrícola is a western NY farmworker-led, grassroots organization that is advocating for legislation to restore access to driver's licenses for undocumented immigrant New Yorkers.

There will be pupusas and vegan/vegetarian pizzas.

WEDNESDAY, 3/28: Screening of "Delano Manongs: Forgotten Heroes of the United Farm Workers Movement" which is a short 30-minute film focusing on Larry Itliong and his contributions to the UFW movement.
CFA Senior Sierra Jamir will also be presenting on Asian Labor Histories. Pizza will be served!~
7:00pm in 122 Rockefeller Hall.

We'll be closing out the week with a Unity Potluck featuring alpha Kappa Delta Phi International Sorority, Inc., CFA, and MEChA. We hope to come together and unite our communities with cooked and catered food.
6:00pm in the Latino Living Center Main Lounge!
