In 1995 a local was asked "if they could create an event which truly reflected what the Man From Snowy River poem meant to our Australian horsemen and women?"
The event celebrated in Corryong that year was the 100th year anniversary of Angust and Robertson's publication of Banjo Paterson's iconic poem, 'The Man From Snowy RIver'. The result, 13 weeks later was the inaugural Man From Snowy River Challenge. this uniquely Australian festival consists of an array of events that celebrate everything bush heritage and 'country'.
Showcasing our heritage, history, art and age-old skills that are still widely used today. Our music, poetry and our love for this amazing part of the world. Plus, the love and respect for our animals is all celebrated and on show for you to enjoy. Not to mention the opportunity to bring a few mates along to share the ride.
