Celebrate National Library Week at Cresco Public Library! National Library Week takes place April 8-14, 2018. Cresco Public Library's special National Library Week book and movie display will be featured beginning Monday, April 9. The theme for National Library Week this year is: 'Libraries Lead.' The spokeswoman for National Library Week is Misty Copeland, one of the most prominent African-American ballerinas in the United States, presently dancing with American Ballet Theatre in New York City. Copeland is the author of the memoir, 'Life in Motion: An Unlikely Ballerina', which Cresco Public Library has in its collection (it will be featured on the National Library Week display). Additionally, Cresco Public Library will host a fine amnesty during National Library Week, where all NEW library fines will be waived (please bring a non-perishable food item with you to support the local food bank). Also, while visiting the National Library Week display, you may write down what good and valuable things the library has 'led you' to in your life, and library staff will post your answers on the display.
