A Gem of a Season event

The Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company was established in 2013 and is comprised of Native American Ojibwe, Lakota, Potawatomi, Menominee and Apache dancers. The group represents men’s and women’s Native American styles including traditional, fancy, jingle, grass and hoop. Our focus is the telling of historic tales and stories using traditional native songs and dances. In 2017 Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company became an Associate Partner with the Native American Tourism Of Wisconsin (NATOW).

Their format is theatrically based and tells a story of Native American culture through traditional dance and music. The story utilizes traditional dances to illustrate a Native American Woodland Tribe within the Great Lakes Area, a narrator’s voice is used to set the mood or begin the story. The length of the show is 60-75 minutes and there is minimal audience interaction. This format utilizes lighting and stage effects to add to the story and is optimized on a stage setting.

It is the mission of the Woodland Sky Native American Dance Company To provide a quality, authentic and respectful Native American dance performance/demonstration with experienced Native American dancers. To educate the viewer on traditional Native American stories, culture and values using authentic songs, music and dance.
