Course includes 12 clock hours

This course is designed for teachers in grades K-8, including STEAM teachers, to provide a launching point for NGSS adoption in the classroom. The material provided will enable teachers to incorporate rigorous science instruction throughout the year and keep on improving science teaching where they work. Students taking this course will gain an overview of the breakdown and implementation of standards via the 3 Dimensions: Science and Engineering Practices, Disciplinary Core Ideas, and Crosscutting Concepts, with attention to each at various grade levels. Students will also understand how to use Performance Expectations as well as how to connect their curriculum to Common Core Mathematics and English Language Arts when implementing the NGSS.

Upon completion of this course, students will receive 12 clock hours.
