Saturdays 12:30pm / Level 1:
This is an introductory 8-week course designed to teach students the basic skills necessary to develop their physical strength, muscle awareness, and mind-body connection to learn the basics of Belly Dance! In this course students will learn posture, arm positions, hip work, footwork, veil work, shimmies, introduction to finger cymbals, and more!
Level 2: Students will learn to travel and layer movements learned in level 1, and will also be introduced to a more complex set of new movements to increase coordination and precision. In level 2 Belly dance layering concepts are introduced in the warm-up and footwork learned from this course are layered will all new belly dance movements.We will also enhance the veil use. Students will focus on continuing to practice traveling steps, and layering movements. New rhythms are introduced of finger cymbals are introduced. Students will receive a certification of completion signed by the instructor at the end of the course.
Saturdays 1:45pm / Level 3: Students are exposed to more intermediate dance combinations with the veil and footwork, we add steps to the playing of finger cymbals. In level 3 we increase speed, precision and stamina while layering multiple movements with various timings, downbeats, foot patterns, arm positions and finger cymbals . We begin to combine several different elements together. Students will receive a certification of completion signed by the instructor at the end of the course.
