Come build your own worm compost bin with Everything Earth Tribe and The PATCH Garden of Dania Beach. Bring your own dark colored, plastic bin, that we can drill holes in. A 3 - 5 gallon bin is best (like the rubbermaid storage bins).

There will be a $10 (cash only) donation collected to help Everything Earth provide the worms and soil if you do want to take home a compost bin for your apartment or small home.

Everything Earth will provide you all with composting guides for you to take home. As well as watermelon to feed yourself...and your new worms!!!

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Why Compost?<<<<<<<<<<<<<<<

Composting is Connection. It is a portal for us to tune in to the divine way Nature intends life to be. We are Nature; we just need reminders that we are ONE in the same. The process of Composting is one way to realize that everything in life intends to be recycled; all energy has its purpose. This is one way of practicing Sustainability.

Compost is nutrient-rich soil, created from the breaking down of organic matter, including fruit/vegetable matter, leaf litter, and manure. The soil created is very dark in color, high in bioavailable nutrients and hold water more efficiently. Compost loosens clay soils and helps sandy soils retain water, meaning less water needs to be used to water plants, conserving water and helping you save money all around on bills.

This compost is also an amazing fertilizer and a conditioner for other already present soils- you bring in the vital nutrients like Nitrogen, Phosphorus and Potassium to your plant’s roots when adding compost, due to the very important microorganisms that will happily make a compost bin their home.
They are very helpful at breaking down organic matter as well.

Composting also recycles food, keeping extra food scraps out the landfill. Vermicomposting is the same concept, with the additive of worms. Worms are so vital to life on Earth, and we all need to humble ourselves and recognize this, rather than look at them in disgust ♥
