It’s been 50 years since the death of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. which was profoundly significant. This event looks at the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. while focusing on the future of racial equality in our community. Although Dr. King’s journey was cut short he left us a roadmap to guide us peacefully away from racial injustice toward a more inclusive culture. This march includes four stops at venues located in the downtown Danville area. Each stop will feature performances such as readings from the words of Dr. King and his wife Coretta Scott King and selections by the Voices of Praise choir. At the end of the march there will be a free community meal held at St. James AME Church. This event will be on Sunday, April 15th from 2pm-5pm and is free and open to the public. All are encouraged to attend. For food preparation purposes please call the Boyle County Extension Office at 236-4484 by April 9th to sign up.
