Naad Yoga & Kirtan - The Essence of Sound & Movement
Fri Date: Apr 13 2018 From: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
In this 2-hour Naad Yoga immersion, Bibi will weave together mantra, chanting, live music and Kirtan with a sequence of classical 8 limb yoga. Through this practice, we will experience how sound vibrations affect the body, mind, and spirit through the movement of the tongue and mouth and how this changes the chemicals of the brain. This vibrational medicine and movement class will open our hearts and voices so we can dive into the Sound Current behind all sound and be touched by the boundless beauty of pure energy.
$25 Advanced Registration // $30 at the door // Limited to 30 participants // https://dayaalucenter.com/workshops.html
Sat. Apr 14 2018 From: 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM
Tea is a medicine that opens up the body’s energy channels. Through the ancient practice of Chinese Tea Ceremony, we learn to be present and listen. The first 1.5 hours are silent and meditative, as we savor high quality, aged puerh and oolong teas that are sourced from bio-diverse regions of China and Taiwan. These teas encourage grounding, heart opening, 3rd eye and crown opening and are sourced from trees and bushes as old as 2,000 years, cared for, harvested, and processed by generations of families with the highest integrity. The last half hour of the ceremony is opened up for sharing and questions about the teas, progressing toward a social experience. What better way to connect with the local yoga community than connecting with the plants of the Earth? $35 // Limited to 20 participants // Register early // https://dayaalucenter.com/events.html
Sat Date: Apr 14 2018 From: 7:30 PM - 9:00 PM
Early civilizations danced as a method of healing and creative expression, but over time we have been conditioned to shut down or detach from our feelings. Our modern-day culture persuades us to dance in a way that is “cool” or “hip,” rather than free and uninhibited. Come experience a victory dance movement that radiates liberation, rather than self-consciousness!
Similar to the flow of a yoga class, we will begin with a warm up, then circle up to honor the elements, our ancestors, and set a personal intention. Then, we’ll all move to a web of ambient, hypnotic world, mantra, electronic, glitch hop, dance beats that facilitate the exploration of higher levels of consciousness before gently winding down to savasana’s state of rest and rejuvenation. While being aware and respectful of those we hold space with, we'll practice freedom, expression, prayer, and thankfulness within an uninhibited container of sacred celebration! And, please join us at 6:00pm for our community potluck before we dance! Bring a potluck dish to share. Beverages provided! Cost: $15 Advance Registration // $20 at the door // https://dayaalucenter.com/events.htm
