This month Syria has been at war for seven years - half a childhood. Syrian children born in 2011 have never seen their homeland at peace. When hearing the horrendous news from Eastern Ghouta, further proof that the global community is not capable of ending this conflict, one does not know whether these children will also lose the next half of their childhood to war.
In the face of these great horrors the UNICEF student team and DE RUIMTE invite you to an evening we want to fill with HOPE FOR SYRIA! We want to remember that Syria is not only a country at war, but of rich art and culture. In collaboration with Syrian cooks and artists we will serve Syrian cuisine and enjoy wonderful performances (soon to be announced). Together, we also want our evening to be an open space to exchange thoughts and possibly transform our hope for peace into further action to support people affected by the war in Syria.
Join us in the Garden House of DE RUIMTE! We ask you for a donation of 5€ for this event, all of which will go to UNICEF to build classrooms for the children of Syria! The food will be supplied by us, while our friends from De Ruimte will be serving you drinks at the bar.
We are looking forward to meeting all of you and sharing this evening of hope with you!
