OHHHHH WHATTTTTTTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow can't believe it! So stoked to be open for ya'll on Saturday the 21st of April. It's been another battle of a year since we last did RSD last year. We're still open, Boss Dude still gets paid $5p/hr but the stock has improved. We'd really appreciate it if you come out again and support us on our biggest day of the year. Winter is not too far away and RSD gives us a buffer for Winter.

(Q) What does record store day mean to Death Ray?
(A) It's a day to celebrate the existence of independent record stores today in this downloading era. It's a day to pay homage to the store owners who provide a service to the music community. It's a day to acknowledge that indie record stores have made it through another year.

It has to be said that being a record store owner is hard. The pay is not really worth it but the joy of providing you all with one of life's pleasures, music! It makes this all worth while. On the day we'll have a few RSD limited edition releases. We haven't ordered a whole lot sorry! due to funds and other things. It's a darn battle keeping this place open. But we'll have a few non RSD releases from local cuzzies. We'd rather have local indie releases for the day but the ones we did order look good.

We're not talking shit but we've got 20% off everything except RSD releases for the day. So kinda like a decent regulars discount but you all get it.

Got 5 x $20 pot luck vouchers. Buy some records and go in the draw.

Food? who knows maybe some baking, chips or lollies but no beer as last time we got in 12 doz for you's and some stink person dobbed us in to the council and Boss Dude had to sample them all himself!

Probs have some of those mean chicks do some DJing during the day and we might even have a band or 2? Who knows nothings sorted!

Boss Dude has been super busy working on New Zealand's 1st ever on the street, in the back pocket Record Store guide featuring 22 stores from around NZ. RSD will be the 1st day to pick up one of these rad guides from most of the indie record stores around NZ. So we'll be having a lil party at MOON 1 in conjunction with the Vinyl Lovers of New Zealand (VLONZ) Wellington meet up we'll have István Ping Clover James Paratii James Buttery and other DJ's playing wax from 6:30pm

So please come to our tiny little store and show your support so Boss Dude can maybe start paying himself $6p/hr.
