Our topic for the luncheon is “Bringing Affordable Family Fun to the River City” with our Featured Speaker, Ken Babby, Owner/CEO of the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp.

Featured Speaker:
Ken Babby – Owner/CEO Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp

Ken Babby became the Owner and CEO of Jacksonville’s Minor League Baseball club in September 2015, and introduced the team’s new identity as the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp on Nov. 2, 2016. Babby, 38, is the youngest multi-team professional sports owner, owning the Akron RubberDucks since October 2012. Prior to then, the Potomac, Maryland, native spent 13 years in marketing positions with the Washington Post and its online and social media counterparts. He was named one of Sports Business Journal‘s 2016 “Forty Under 40,” recognizing excellence and innovation in sports business careers, and he was an Entrepreneur Of The Year® 2017 Award winner.

In the inaugural season as the Jumbo Shrimp, attendance increased by more than 61,000 – the most of any Double-A ballpark and a Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville-record 23 percent – to more than 325,000. The team won the Southern League’s Organization of the Year and Promotional Trophy.

Babby has invested more than $1.8 million into the Baseball Grounds add the Budweiser Tiki Terrace, renovate all the private luxury suites on the BDO Suite Level, develop the Hot Corner group hospitality area, expand the suite-level lounge, and improve other ballpark areas.

Babby’s two-fold mission is to create a memorable, unique, affordable and enjoyable fan experience, and maximize the opportunity to create change in the community through charitable, wellness and education initiatives. Babby is a Trustee Chair of the Jacksonville Chamber of Commerce Board of Directors, and on the Jacksonville University Board of Trustees, Jewish Community Alliance Board of Directors, Baptist Hospitals of Florida Board of Directors, and Visit Jacksonville Board. He is also the chair of the Baseball Internet Rights Company (BIRCO). Ken is married to his wife, Liz, and has a 9-year-old son, Josh.

Spotlight Speaker:

Sean Stenson, Owner of SpeedPro Imaging

Sean is a proud graduate of the University of Georgia and spent several years after college in various roles within the restaurant industry. He switched careers in his late 20’s and landed a role with the old Nextel Communications group where he sold Wireless Data Solutions. Sean spent 16 years in the Wireless Applications World where He spent the majority of his time working in and/or running Indirect Sales Organizations. This experience helped him better understand what it takes for small and medium sized businesses to be successful. Relationships and customer service are the lifeblood of a business and Sean has had the honor to work with and learn from several entrepreneurs that exemplify these traits.

***His Family

Sean has been married for 20 years to a beautiful and amazingly patient lady named Linda. Together they have produced two children that are as close to being perfect kids as any person could ask for. Sydney is a Freshman at the University of South Carolina and is going to major in Finance with a minor in Spanish. Samuel is a Sophomore at Ridgeview High School and recently turned 16.

He will also keep all the team members engaged and moving in the right direction to provide the best possible solution for your business.

He transitioned out of the corporate world at the end of 2015 and is now operating a SpeedPro Imaging studio that provides high quality solutions to businesses not only in the Jacksonville, FL area, but also nationwide through a network of 150+ studios.
