This is the big one folks.

We're celebrating the winners of our first literary prize with gusto, unveiling our one-off booklet of the shortlisted stories and reading as many of these bangers as we can.

The winner, Ed Cottrell, will be in-house along with a bunch of the other shortlisted authors and the three judges: Euan Monaghan, Hestia Peppe, & Eley Williams.

Here's what Eley had to say about the shortlist:

‘This brilliant shortlist celebrates everything that I value in literature — its demands, its affirmations, its possibilities. Linguistically playful, narratively deft: each story demonstrated the ways in which writing’s verve can thrill in the vein and trill on the ear. It was incredibly difficult to find winners: all of the writers’ entries were assured in their teetering, fiery in their freshness and bold in their complexity and should be congratulated and thanked.’

And as her book of short stories, 'Attrib & Other Stories', won more accolades (not to mention prize selections) than you can shake a stick at --- well, she'd know what she's talking about.
