Dickenson County Sheriff's Office will provide a concealed carry permit class for citizens on April 14th, 2018 at 9 am in the training room of the Dickenson County Sheriffs Office (former courthouse). There will be a donation fee of $25.00 per person for the class which will be donated to a 9 year old boy from Dickenson County who is currently fighting cancer. Dalton Gilbert is fighting bone cancer called osteosarcoma. Dalton started this journey October 2, 2015. At this time Dalton is receiving chemotherapy treatments to help fight this disease. All funds will be donated to this family to help with expenses and anything needed in this fight. If you would like to donate more than the required $25.00 you may do that as well. Please print your ticket off when you register for this event and bring with you the morning of the training as you pay for this class. Participants will need to bring an ID, ear protection, handgun and 150 rounds of ammunition. Firearms are to be secured away during the first part of the class. The second part will consist of participants using firearms on the firing range at a location close to sheriff's office. Any questions may be directed to Major Scott Stanley or Lt.
