Autism Awareness Month Sensory Tunnel Experience
Visit DISCOVERY during Autism Awareness month in April and walk through our Sensory Tunnel Experience. The sensory tunnel is intended raise awareness among our community’s children and families about how our kids on the Autism spectrum Receive, Process, and Respond to information from the world around them. The tunnel is a 10 ft. walk meant to light up our senses with a barrage of visual, auditory and proprioceptive (our body’s ability to define where we are in space and time) input. For kids it may feel a little bit like a short walk through a wacky fun house…fun for the moment, but they wouldn’t want to live there! It is our hope that understanding the gifts and challenges of our autistic community will bring about compassion and support from children and adults throughout the Valley. It’s a learning experience you don’t want to miss!
The sensory tunnel is sponsored in part by GES & Neuro-fit Systems.
Neuro-fit Systems is proven to promote neurologic efficiency by organizing and maturing neuropathways through a movement protocol which results in the reduction of symptoms associated with Autism, ADD/ADHD, SPD, Speech Delay, Learning Challenges and other neuro-developmental issues.
