2018 CNC Programs at Discovery Preserve
1701 S. Euclid in Bay City
CNC is pleased to partner with Saginaw Basin Land Conservancy to offer CNC staff-led programs at their property, Discovery Preserve. Programs are made possible by a grant from the Dow Corning Donor Advised Fund at the Bay Area Community Foundation.

Binoculars and Birds | Fri, May 11 • 8-9 am
Nesting season is underway, so join CNC Interpretive Naturalist Jeanne Henderson for a walk at Discovery Preserve as we look and listen for resident birds and migrants.Loaner binoculars are available.

Fun in the Mud: International Mud Day
Fri, June 29 • 11 am-12 pm
Bring your boots and prepare to get muddy as we explore what creatures live in the pond “muck,” make mud animal tracks and just have fun with CNC Interpretive Naturalist Michelle Fournier.

Insect Safari | Thurs, July 26 • 3-4 pm
Butterflies and other insects can be found everywhere – in the air, on plants and on the ground with CNC Naturalist Michelle Fournier.

Discovering Butterflies | Wed, Aug 15 • 3-4 pm
Join Naturalist Jeanne Henderson at Discovery Preserve to look for butterflies, caterpillars and the plants that support them.

Falling Leaves and Seeds

Join Interpretive Naturalist Jeanne Henderson as we discover the diversity of leaves and seeds that can be found at Discovery Preserve.

Native American Uses of Natural Resource
Sat, Oct 13 • 1-2 pm
Join CNC staff for an overview of traditional skills used by this region’s Native Americans to make fire by friction, cordage and more.
